Work begins on Valley wall

Foundation work has been carried out on the Valley wall which has been due for repair for some time, writes Brian Byrne.

The wall has deteriorated in recent years, in part from being hit by passing HGV traffic. The Council was approached to have it repaired following discussions in February at Kilcullen Community Action meetings, where the danger to road users from debris falling from the wall was noted.

It was last repaired by the Council in 2011, prior to the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Gilltown.
