Students lunchtime plan in place

As reported in preparation last week, a plan has now been put in place by the three main shops providing lunchtime food to CPC students, writes Brian Byrne.

The College, Kilcullen Gardai, and the shops have worked together to produce the plan which gives the students the opportunity to buy their lunches and also get fresh air, in a safe manner for everyone.

The cafeteria services in the College will not be available when the students go back next week. Lunchtime in the College from Monday to Thursday is between 1.15pm-1.55pm, and Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer, who has been coordinating the plan, says it would be advisable for those in vulnerable groups to plan their own shopping outside that time.

Pre-ordering lunches is a key part of the plan. Nolans will take orders in person or on the phone 045 481229 up to 11am each morning.

Daybreak also has a pre-order and collect service, orders given in the morning will be ready during the lunch period. Cash or card payments.

Eurospar has a text ordering system on 087 4623537, for orders to be collected outside the Post Office door from 1.05pm. Cash only payment.

Each shop will have staff on the door to help, direct and monitor queuing on social distance and face-mask protocols
