Kilcullen 'not seeing increase' in Covid-19
Local doctor Deirdre Collins told RTE this morning that her practice has not seen an increase in positive Covid-19 cases, writes Brian Byrne. She was speaking on Morning Ireland.
As of 12 August, the total number of notified cases in Kilcullen Electoral Division stands at 11, Ballyshannon at 7, and Carnalway is 11, according to the Ireland Covid-19 Data Hub.
This is against the background of almost 1,100 cases of infection diagnosed nationally in the last 14 days. Some 66 of these were notified yesterday, 21 of them in County Kildare. Kildare now has a total of 1,990 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
The infection rate by population in Kilcullen is a third of that in Newbridge, and a quarter of that in Naas and Kildare town.
