Parklets for Kilcullen?
Wouldn't a couple of these suit the car parking spaces along by The River Cafe and O'Connell's Bar, and maybe further along the side of the square? writes Brian Byrne.
They're 'parklets' and are being installed in Galway, Dublin, and Dundalk.
A nice clean and good visual way to tidy up the streetscape and provide socially-distanced seating spaces safe from traffic. And the footpaths stay clear for pedestrians.
Worth asking the Council for help with, and would provide local business for an enterprising carpenter or small builder in their construction.
It would also (and here's where I'm going to get into trouble) deal with the ongoing problem of cars parked with their rear ends dangerously out in the narrowest part of the busy road.
