New Artisan Market at Kilcullen Community Centre on Saturday
A Food Market will be held at Kilcullen Community Centre on Saturday next, 25 July, from 10am-2pm, writes Centre Manager Enda O'Neill.
Coffees, jams, eggs, homemade soup, pastries, cheese, milk and breads and other tasty healthy treats will be available at stalls which will be set up just behind the main entrance to the complex near the St Bridget's Pitch and Putt Course.
Our small artisan producers include Crean's Place, Croft Cakes, Bend in the Barrow homemade soap, Cullen's Organic Farm, Gibney's Preserves, Loughlin's milk and eggs, Tracie's Beeswax Wraps and Vincenzo's Little Dairy Cheeses. Come down and support some of our local producers at is what I think will be the Kilcullen Centre's first time to host a market. Please remember to bring your own cups and containers and lets make it a zero waste market.
Other news, our Lets Go Summer Camps which are being held in Kilcullen Community Centre and All Weather Pitch are proving to be a great success. Seventy-five children from 5-12 are having lots of fun with activities including rounders, KMX bikes, Gaelic Football, basketball, soccer and other fun games. A lot of happy little faces having the craic with their friends, which is great to see. Emma Murphy, an ex-student of the Cross and Passion College is camp co-ordinator for the week.
No 1 Fitness are back in our All Weather Pitch on Monday 3 August with their Bank Holiday Tabata, all members and non-members are welcome. It's €10 for non-members. No.1 Fitness coach Mariusz will be hosting a Running Drills and Technique Course starting on Friday 14 August for six weeks. This course will help improve coordination, ability and balance, making you a more efficient runner and suits all levels of fitness. Mariusz is well known in the tri-athlete world and has competed twice in Kona, Hawai, which is a World Championship Triathlon. He qualified for Kona triathlon in Austria in 2014 and in Wales in 2018. Kona is one of the longest running triathlons, entering its 42nd year.
Mariusz holds the Irish and Polish course record and finished 6th in Kona in 2018, so I guess he is a good guy to get running tips off!
