Good initial take-up for ShopCountyKildare.ie

Fifty businesses in County Kildare have signed up to the ShopCountyKildare.ie initiative by Kildare County Council to help local businesses establish an online shopping presence, writes Brian Byrne.

As yet, there's no Kilcullen business there, but it's only a matter of time.

The initiative is in association with Kildare Local Enterprise Office and County Kildare Chamber, and intends to encourage shopping local online. Every €1 spent locally generates an additional €4 in the local economy.

The site is very easy to use, and visitors can choose the town and sector they want using simple drop-down menus.

Jewellery is so far the largest section, followed by Beauty and Fashion.
