CPC graduate Spinning in Circles
A Cross and Passion College graduate from the Class of 2020 is launching her first single Spinning in Circles on 17 July, writes Brian Byrne.
Tia Burke is no stranger to singing in public. With bandmates Cillian Deegan and Diarmuid Faherty, the 18-year old has played events like Electric Picnic, and last October they were chosen to work with Kodaline as part of the Vodafone X Level Up competition.
She has already an international gig ticketed onto her guitar case — two years ago she performed in the US at Lexington’s 4th of July Festival. She won both the Edenderry Busking Festival and the June Fest Busking competition last summer. Her influences include Kate Bush, Nick Cave and Aurora, and you can watch and listen to her cover of Bush's Running Up That Hill below.
Spinning in Circles hones in on the themes of friendship, love and loss to produce an elegant yet powerful piano ballad. It was recorded in Camden Recording Studios Dublin and features Diarmuid Faherty on piano and Cillian Deegan on guitar.
