Pieta House candles on sale today

A reminder that candles for the upcoming lighting of the bridge in aid of Pieta House are available to buy outside Nolan's Butchers today Saturday 27 June, writes Brian Byrne. They were also on sale yesterday.

The initiative is instead of the annual Dawn Walk organised by Lorna Brophy and Richie Kelly, which is not possible this year because of coronavirus restrictions.

The candles are on sale between 10am and 2pm, and will be placed on the bridge in memory of loved ones on Saturday 4 July. The donation lines include a space to provide the names people wish to commemorate.
