Looking Back: Kilcullen Tennis Pavilion opening
Continuing with our very popular old photos series, this is another from Nessa Dunlea, and records the official opening of the new Tennis Pavilion on 3 July 1966.
The building was funded by the Kilcullen Development Association and the Parish, in recognition of the work carried out by the Committee in getting the two grass courts playable again.
Pictured at front are Simon Lynch, Michael St Leger, Paddy Nugent, Joe McTernan and his daughter Valerie, Canon Furlong with his dog Bruno, Fr Curley, Tommy Orford, and the Chairman of the Tennis Club, Anthony Linden. Other members of the Committee are at the back - Tommy Morris, Nessa O'Connell and Pat Dunlea.
