A timeline for the reopening of Kilcullen Community Centre will include a partial reopening of the All Weather Pitch from Monday next, 8 June, writes Brian Byrne.

The Community Employees will also resume work in the Centre on that date, according to a 'roadmap' issued by the Centre, but the Sports Hall, Connolly Room and Carter Room will remain closed to the public.

Centre Manager Enda O'Neill emphasises that the use of the All Weather Pitch is for small group team training and there must be no contact between participating individuals.

Clubs using it must also have authorisation from their governing bodies, GAA and FAI, to make sure that the players are insured.

"Coaches and individuals are responsible for the activity and must adhere to Government social distance guidelines," Enda says.

On Phase 3, from 29 June, the Sports Hall will be open to activities where the social distancing regulations can be met, such as Singles Badminton, Yoga and Line Dancing.

In that phase, the Connolly Room will be available for small group meetings such as arts and crafts, AGMs and similar meetings, again with social distancing in place. The Carter Room will remain closed at this point.

Details of the Centre's availability for Phase 4 and 5 will be published on 29 June. In the meantime, Enda notes that Phase 2 and Phase 3 remain subject to change in line with any Government decisions.

Bookings for available facilities can be made by phone at 087 9681040, or online at kilcullencommunitycentre.com, or on openplay.ie at the Kilcullen Community Centre space.
