There was strong local support shown from the community for the short ceremony at Kilcullen Garda Station this morning to mark the funeral of Detective Garda Colm Horkan,

Serving and past members of the Kilcullen Garda complement, as well as members from Naas and Clane, paraded at midday to pay respects to their colleague killed while on duty.
A prayer was read by Pat Lynch at the occasion, which was also attended by members of Kilcullen Community First Responders.
The Last Post was played by Derek McNamara of the Defence Forces Band, a tradition for 'fallen comrades'.
