Mostly cloudy to begin, with some light rain and drizzle. Some sunny spells, and that dry clearer weather will extend southwards through the morning and early afternoon. Feeling fresher than recently with afternoon highs of 9 to 12 degrees in light to moderate northwest winds.

The world's first satellite made of wood has been sent into space. LignoSat was designed by Japanese researchers and will be released into orbit from the International Space Station for a six-month study into how wood handles the extremes of the space environment.
