Hillcrest residents have sheep problems
UPDATE: Sheep have now been claimed.
Stray sheep are causing angst at Hillcrest over the last couple of days, writes Brian Byrne, with residents complaining they are 'eating shrubs, hedges, and flowers in our gardens'.
The seven hoggets have recently been shorn, so have no markings, but some do have ear-tags.
Ray Nolan Jr came to help, bringing a sheepdog and managed to bring them to a farther part of the green. But one resident told the Diary they 'are afraid to go to sleep tonight' if the owners aren't found, for fear of what might happen their gardens.
The gardai are on the case and trying to find the owner.
