Daragh's poem highly commended in Oz Yeats competition

A poem by Kilcullen-born Daragh Byrne has been given a Highly Commended award in the Annual WB Yeats Poetry Prize for Australia competition.

The son of Josephine and the late Des Byrne of Moyola, his poem is titled 'A memory of Fr Flanagan in repose'. Daragh lives in Sydney.

The annual competition is in association with the WB Yeats Society of Victoria and is open only to residents of Australia.

"I'm pretty bloody pleased about this!" he posted on his Facebook page today, at the news.
