Children's Writing Competition

A writing competition for 6-12 year-olds has been organised by Kildare Library and Arts Service, with a closing date of 31 May, writes Brian Byrne.

Participants will write a story inspired by a Kildare monument or local folklore, of between 300-500wds. There are two age categories, 6-9 year-olds and 10-12 year-olds.

All entries must be original and will be accepted by email only. The email may be a clear photo of the written story.

Submissions to maynoothlib@kildarecoco.ie. A copy should be kept, as no submissions will be returnable.

The competition is an initiative of the Beyond The Book Kildare Young Readers Festival 2020, which has been running online since 16 May and ends tomorrow.
