Most estates have planted wildflowers

Ten out of the 12 residential estates in the town have taken up the option of planting wildflowers, writes Brian Byrne.

The recent Kilcullen Community Action meeting held by videoconferencing heard from the Pollinator Group's Paul Leighton that all the estates participating have had their wildflower seeds given to them.

The seeds were purchased by KCA, and the estates involved have set aside spaces in their public areas for them.

He also noted the distribution of most of the 300 trees which had been donated by the Irish Beekeepers Association to Kilcullen, saying there had been an amazing response after the offer was publicised.

"I even had calls from Newbridge and as far away as Monasterevin," he said, but noted that the trees had been specifically given for Kilcullen.
