He says, quite rightly, that this could help with social distancing that's limited by the passing of others on the footpath when they are used in both directions.
We're not sure how this might be actually implemented, but it's worth considering.
(Unfortunately, I'm one of the now-'cocooned' by virtue of age and will have to forego my daily tramp or cycle around the town in favour of wearing a track in the grass of my back garden ... one way, of course!)
