The Spout is closing temporarily from tonight

The Spout Bar in Kilcullen has joined with other local pubs in announcing a temporary closure, writes Brian Byrne.

The business is joining with The Stream Inn in Calverstown, O'Connells in Kilcullen, and Rainsfords of Athgarvan who have all announced closures due to the Covid-19 situation

Tommy Dignam says that 'despite the lack of clarity from government, we have taken the difficult decision to close from tonight in the best interest of our staff and customers'.

"We feel that implementing social distancing will be too difficult and health is first and foremost in this situation. Stay safe, everyone, and we hope to see you when things improve."
