Thank you to retail staff, from Mary and everyone

To all the staff working in shops and keeping our town going, a great big thank you, writes Mary Orford. I stood behind counters and desks all my life, I can feel the pain of tired feet and a strained smile.

This morning I shopped during 'elderly hour'. When, oh when, did it happen that I became older, more mature, elderly? To make up for the pain of realisation that I'm old, I encountered nothing but politeness, good humour and friendliness from all the staff.

Well done to all of you — for working so hard in stressful times. Beir bua. Stay safe and well.
