Kilcullen woman works on fight against COVID-19

A woman raised and educated in Kilcullen is at the forefront of development of a vaccine against COVID-19.

Teresa Lambe, an associate professor at the Jenner Institute in Oxford, is a former student at Cross and Passion College and formerly from Nicholastown where her parents still live.

After earning a PhD in Cell Biology Teresa went to Oxford in 2001 for post-doctoral studies. She now specialises in vaccine development and has worked on Ebola, Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever, Lassa fever, Nipah virus and MERS.

Teresa's full story is told by Noel Clare in the March issue of The Bridge, now on sale in the usual outlets.

The article also reports on former Kilcullen resident Ben Kavanagh's experiences in Wuhan at the height of the Coronavirus crisis there.
