CPC students can collect books today, 4pm-4.30pm
Cross and Passion College is allowing students who have books in their lockers to collect them today between 4pm-4.30pm, writes Brian Byrne.
This is the sole reason for a brief opening of the premises, and students who wish to avail of it must arrive individually. In a message to students on the school app, Principal Joe Leonard says that any 'groups of students who attend will not be allowed access'.
The only door that will be open is the main one near the reception and Assembly Hall.
"There should be no congregating, simply come in, go directly to get books, and leave again," the Principal says. "There are a number of online resources available, but your notes and books are the best resources you have."
Principal Leonard has also advised that some guidance is likely to be available soon for 3rd and 6th Year students on the State Examinations. He suggested that they might consider following the normal school timetable as they work at home. "Continue to prepare as best you can and do not worry unduly about what is beyond your control."
He finished by sending a special message of gratitude to the frontline workers, 'many of whom are family members of our school community'. "We will be back in Cross and Passion College and it will be in no small part because of your efforts. Thank you."
