Book bundles from Woodbine Books will surprise

Woodbine Books is offering a new service for the duration of the Covid closure, bundles of three books chosen by the bookshop, to be collected, delivered, or posted, writes Brian Byrne.

Each bundle will be different, and will be a kind of surprise package because you won't be ordering specific books.

I think this is a great idea, because it will help open up a breadth of different reading to each customer, who might not have chosen one or more of the books in the bundle. It's a bit like getting a birthday gift of books ...

The bundle categories so far are New Fiction (€50), Comfort Reading (€35), Irish Fiction (€35), Non-Fiction (€35), Short Stories/Essays (€35), Young Adult (€30), Kids 9-12 (€30), Kids 5-8 (€25), Kids Picture Books (€25). Postage will be a flat fee of €3.50.

You can either order these through the Woodbine Books website or contact by phone 045 482777, email or via the shop's social media accounts.

The phone will be manned between 12pm and 6pm every day next week and orders can be collected during this time.

EDITOR NOTE: If you're out shopping or walking, do PLEASE observe social distancing. If your teenagers are going out, remind them that while they may not suffer much from covid-19, bringing it home to their family could kill someone who loves them.
