Bakery Assistant wanted in An Tearmann

An Tearmann is currently seeking a motivated person to fill the position of Bakery Workshop Assistant.

The contract is for Maternity Cover and the rate of pay is €12.50 per hour.

The position operates 15 hours per week - Monday to Friday 9.30am–12.30pm.

An Tearmann is a bright and busy coffee shop with an on-site bakery attached. The café is part of a community with people with special needs, who are involved in the work and running of this special venture and an integral part of it.

We require people with relevant experience to help support the busy workshops which supports the coffee shop. If you have a passion for service and food production, love working with people with special needs, and thrive on working in a job that requires many different skills – this might be for you!

We’d like candidates with experience in catering and service to the public. An ability to understand people with special needs and to motivate and support them in a work environment is essential.

Naturally, the successful candidate will be positive, organised, reliable and self-motivated. He or she will have a keen interest or passion for baking cakes and breads and will assist in maintaining the bakery’s production schedule by following the daily routines to help produce good quality products.

The successful candidate will deliver a high standard of decoration and presentation in line with currents standards of An Tearmann.

He or she will be working together with the bakery coordinator, and coffee shop manager to produce high quality fresh product in a timely and efficient manner, undertake the preparation of food and beverages served in coffee shop, and be part of and ensure general cleaning routines.

Qualifications are Level 5 Fetac – Healthcare Level 5 (Desirable); Experience of working in a coffee shop/bakery or similar catering and service experience; The ability to work collaboratively in a team and to enthusiastically support individuals.
