Weather: ease up on the roads

It's cold and icy. There's snow on the roofs and ground, and flurries of it in the air. Blustery wind and temperatures between 1-3 degrees and a significant wind chill.

Early sunny spells but most of the day will be rain, sleet or snow. Some frost tonight. Roads can be dangerous, so ease up.

The record snowfall depth in Ireland was the 42cm at Casement Aerodrome on New Year's Eve in 1962.
