Updates on KCA signs, polytunnel projects

Two Kilcullen Community Action projects which involve support from the Kildare Leader Partnership are making progress, writes Brian Byrne.

They are the new signage for the town, and the provision of a polytunnel in which KCA can grow its own Kilcullen in Bloom plants.

Those present at the latest KCA meeting were given updates on both projects.

On the signage, Noel Clare said Leader had confirmed that the group is eligible for application for grant aid for the project. Its status is now at the stage of preparation of specifications for tender, he said. But beyond that there's no actual timeline.

Eoin Houlihan said the polytunnel project, which is also being part-funded by Leader, is at the stage where a licence agreement is being drawn up for the owner of the property where the unit will be located. He didn't expect that this would be done before the end of the month.
