Planning already for next year's Christmas lights
As Kilcullen gets into gear for 2020, a shout out again for the excellent Christmas lights this year, writes Brian Byrne.
Organised and installed by Kilcullen Community Action, and with support from local businesses, individuals, and Kildare County Council, this year's display has been particularly good.
At the last KCA meeting, Noel Clare noted that some of the lights which have been used over a number of years are 'getting towards' end of life.
KCA chair Ann Cashman said a fresh inventory of the lights should be carried out.
Noel suggested that before they are taken down, a walk around the town should be undertaken with a view to making a plan for next Christmas.
In response to a comment from Eoin Houlihan about the need to moving to LED, he noted that 'everything is LED now'.
