A reminder that the Kilcullen 700 heritage event for November is a presentation of videos under the title of 'River Liffey Stories' writes Brian Byrne. It will be held in the Town Hall tonight, Tuesday, starting at 8pm. Admission is free.

The series, a collaboration between the Heritage Offices of Wicklow, Kildare and South Dublin County Councils has been produced by the Bailey & Blake video production company. A segment about Kilcullen was filmed earlier this year and will be included in Tuesday's presentation.

The four-and-a-half minute films depict different aspects of the Liffey, from its source in the Wicklow Mountains, along its journey through Kildare and Dublin to the sea. Themes explored include history, geology, flora, fauna and the people associated with the river.

The selection to be screened in Kilcullen will be from the Wicklow and Kildare videos. The event will last about an hour, with a break for tea in the middle.
