Childhood nostalgia at Memory Monday
Our monthly walk down memory lane at the latest Memory Monday was a hugely entertaining and nostalgic one, writes Mary Orford. This month, the theme was childhood and there was much talk of marbles, cowboys and indians and skipping rhymes, along with some happy and sad tales of schooldays.
Some 1930s riddles from Brannockstown school copybooks were perplexing and fun. Pam Ayres didn't make an appearance but Liam Walker made a wonderful stand-in with a poem about tanners and bobs.
Our next Memory Monday will be on 14 October. Our theme will be ghosts and black dogs, banshees and the PĂșca. Kilcullen Heritage Centre 11am.
