Hazel's 'Lighthouse' on historical fiction award longlist
Local author Hazel Gaynor's 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Daughter' has been long-listed for the 2019 HWA Gold Crown Award, writes Brian Byrne.
That puts her novel in the running for the prize for the best historical fiction published in the last year.
The Award is organised by the Historical Writers' Association, and is for the best historical novel first published in the UK in English.
The judging panel of writers, journalists and reviewers comprises Kate Atherton, Victoria Blake, Robin Carter, Helen Nugent, and Antonia Senior (Chair).
