Frustration at signage project progress
A frustration with progress on getting new signage in Kilcullen was raised at the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, writes Brian Byrne.
Responding to a question from Cllr Fiona McLoughlin Healy who was attending the meeting, Noel Clare said that KCA had completed a lot of work on the design, but were stuck in Kildare County Council on planning for the signage.
He noted that KCA had in principle secured part funding for the 12 signs from the Kildare Leader Programme, but couldn’t make a full application until a permission or waiver from planning had been secured from the Council.
“Over all the time since this started we have been sent from Billy to Jack in the Council,” he told Cllr McLoughlin Healy. “Some time ago we finally were given a form to fill out and send in for the planning matter. We got an acknowledgement, but nothing since then.”
The councillor said she would follow it up directly once she had been given the last point of contact KCA had had on the matter.
