Saoirse wins Young Bookseller award
Local bookseller Saoirse Behan has been announced as one of the winners of the inaugural James Patterson Young Bookseller Special Achievement Award. Twenty winners in all were selected, only two of whom are from Ireland.
The winners, all booksellers aged 25 and under, have worked in a bookshop for at least 12 months. Candidates were nominated by their managers or colleagues from high street bookshops across Britain and Ireland.
Saoirse works in Woodbine Books and is well known to readers of all ages in the town, particularly for her children's and young adult book clubs which she hosts on Saturdays in Woodbine Books.
