A nature project for the kids’ summer
I have to confess that I don’t myself. But a new project by Biodiversity Ireland will prompt me to have a go.
BI is inviting people all over the country to report sightings of any of the 20 species that it knows commonly occur in Irish gardens.
They are widely varied from all the different animal types.
The list includes birds, bugs, bees and butterflies, ladybirds, worms, foxes, shrews and frogs.
A full background to the programme can be found here, including how to submit sightings.
Wouldn’t this be a great way to get the youngsters focused on nature — and out of the way — for the summer holidays?
