Kilcullen's strong showing at business expo

Three Kilcullen businesses — one about which we didn't know — were displaying their products at the County Kildare Chamber annual Summer Business Expo yesterday in Sheehy Motors in Naas, writes Brian Byrne.

Alan McCormack of Carve On was showing examples of the fine leather corporate gifts which are produced in the company's Kilcullen factory. He said business is very good and the biggest problem they face at the moment is 'shortage of time'.

The stand beside Carve On was occupied by a sister company, the one we didn't know about, Made Personal. Operated by Robert Kennedy, a longtime friend of Alan's, his business is branding everyday goods for companies doing promotional events or campaigns. Made Personal now operates from the same premises as Carve On, so effectively there's a 'one-stop-shop' for both ends of the branded goods business.

Across the way, Seamus Brady of Ecokem was showing the range of janitorial and cleaning products which he provides for small and large businesses. He's in the middle of developing new brands within the range, about which there will be more news soon.

There was a big buzz around the expo, which was spread through the three Sheehy Motors showrooms for Volkswagen, Skoda and Audi.
