Gospel Choir to perform with US school choir
Kilcullen Gospel Choir will be performing with the International Tour Choir of Waukee High School, Iowa, USA on Friday 7 June, writes Brian Byrne.
The event in Cill Mhuire Church in Newbridge will raise funds for the Irish Red Cross Newbridge Ambulance and Equipment Fund.
Tickets are €10, or a family of four for €30, and will be available at the door on the night.
It is the first international choir tour from Waukee High School, and comprises students from all six of the choirs in the school, in which more than 325 students participate.
The school has twice been selected to send ensembles to national conventions for the American Choral Directors Association.
The tour choir is led by head choir director Jeff Knutson and associate choir director Kathryn Mosiman.
The Kilcullen Gospel Choir is directed by Lorraine Nolan.
