Anyone have knowledge about this vehicle?
UPDATE on Monday 6 May: The vehicle has been removed.
The Diary has been made aware of this 2008 Land Rover Defender crane vehicle which has apparently been 'left to rot' in the car park behind Centra on Hillcrest for the last couple of months, writes Brian Byrne.
The vehicle has Northern Ireland Electricity livery, with NI registration plates. NIE is a wholly owned subsidiary of ESB Group.
Our correspondent contacted NIE a month ago, to be told that the vehicle had been sold by them at auction three years ago and they don't know who the current owner is.
According to the DVLA in the UK, the vehicle's MOT expired in September 2016 and it is untaxed since 06 October of that same year.
It does not have an Export Marker, which means the current owner did not notify the UK licensing authorities that it was being exported. Obviously it has not been re-registered in Ireland.
If anyone has any knowledge of ownership or activity, maybe they'd let us know?
