Kilcullen 700 Art Trail launches mid-May
The Kilcullen 700 Art Exhibition will be launched on Friday 17 May in Crean's Place, writes Brian Byrne.
The event will initiate a four-week 'Art Trail' exhibition of works from local amateur and professional artists who are contributing to the event.
In addition to Crean's Place, the trail venues are Woodbine Books, The River Café, An Tearmann, Kilcullen Credit Union, The Final Furlong and Kilcullen Library.
According to organisers Esther Reddy and Conor Williams, there was a 'great response' to calls for participation, in many different genres.
"Huge thanks must go to the various businesses and managers of premises who have agreed to host a section of the Art Trail," Esther Reddy says, and asks that as many people as possible should attend the 17 May opening, which will be at 7pm.
"They will hear a little of what to expect throughout the trail and will also meet some of the artists. A brochure will be available on the night, and indeed can be obtained in any of the host premises, from which it will be possible to see what pieces are on display in each place."
The organisers also express their thanks to Kilcullen Lions Club for their support and sponsorship of this very exciting project.
