A great day for planting trees
There was an excellent turnout this morning, on a perfect day for digging and planting trees, at the Mill Stream, writes Brian Byrne.
Families old and new to Kilcullen all came along to help celebrate National Tree Week and Kilcullen 700, putting down many of the 700 trees provided by the Tree Council of Ireland.
Eanna Ni Lamhna was also on hand to encourage, and to show how a tree should be put down in the right way to have it thrive.
It also turned out to be a very sociable way of spending an hour or so.
