St Patrick's Day Parade is building
The St Patrick's Day Parade is getting closer and the organisers say it's still not too late to register a float and take part, writes Brian Byrne. Email kilcullenparade@gmail.com if you are a business or group who would like to march or provide a float.
The event is a little earlier this year so as to allow some of those taking part to participate in other parades in nearby towns. Those who will be walking or driving in the parade are asked to gather at the Kaymed factory at 10am and the parade will begin at 11am.
There will be a very strong international element to this year's event, with several groups of people from other countries who live locally marching with their country's flags.
Also, the Twinning Charter between Kilcullen and the town of Saint-Contest in Normandy is being signed on the reviewing stand during the parade, so it's a very special Kilcullen 700 year.
