Meeting on CCTV for Kilcullen tomorrow
A public information meeting on the possibility of introducing CCTV to Kilcullen to discourage anti-social behaviour and crime will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 9 April, writes Brian Byrne.
The meeting is being organised by Kilcullen FG local election candidate Tracey O'Dwyer (right) and FG Cllr Ivan Keatley.
The venue is Kilcullen Town Hall, and the event begins at 8.30pm. There will be contributions from An Garda Siochana, from Cllr Keatley, and from other local representatives.
The meeting will be of particular interest to businesses on main street and to community groups operating in the town area. All welcome.
At the AGM of the Kilcullen Community Text Alert Scheme last year, it was suggested that such a system would 'enhance public safety', and that there are opportunities for grant-aid to minimise the costs.
