Another busy day for twinning visitors

Members of the Saint-Contest and Kilcullen twinning groups in Crean's Place, with the restaurant's staff for the evening Daniel Tinsley, Jason Hogan and Cristophe Martin.
Continuing with their introduction to their new twin town, our guests from Saint-Contest in Normandy had dinner last evening in Crean's Place, writes Brian Byrne.

It wasn't quite the end to what had been a very busy day for them, as they afterwards attended the 1798 Concert in the Town Hall. There was some suggestion that they might continue later to one of the local pubs, but the Diary didn't wait to see how that turned out.

Three other delegates will be joining the group for today's St Patrick's Day Parade — Dr Stephane Pronost, Deputy Director, Labéo Laboratory, Saint-Contest; Professor Romain Paillott, Head of Equine Health, Labéo Laboratory; and Gabrielle Sutton, a PhD Student for Labéo being hosted by the Irish Equine Centre.

The group will come down the hill in the Parade, then watch the rest of it from the reviewing stand in the square. Afterwards, the Twinning Charter will be signed in the Heritage Centre, from 12.30pm.

A reception and dinner in Fallons this evening will conclude the official elements of the twinning programme. Tomorrow morning the visitors will go to Gilltown Stud before having lunch in The Hideout and then departing for Dublin Airport.
