Map to be developed for footpaths need

Sunnyhill Road.
A map showing where new footpaths are required in Kilcullen is to be prepared for presentation to Kildare County Council, writes Brian Byrne.

Last night's meeting of Kilcullen Community Action heard that the map will also provide the basis for inspection and recommendations by An Garda for the provision of such footpaths.

Where existing footpaths are in need of major repairs will also be noted on the map, which Ann Cashman of KCA will organise.

New Abbey Road.
There was some discussion about where new footpaths are needed. These include one from the Curragh Road junction with Sunnyhill Road to the entrance at Cnoc na Greine estate. Another is from the Parish Church to the graveyard.

Existing footpaths in poor condition include the one from Moanbane Park to the junction with the industrial estate, and the one at Logstown.
