'Citizen scientist' evening on recording wildlife
An information evening on how to record information at local level on Ireland's wildlife will be held on Thursday 28 February in Newbridge, writes Brian Byrne.
The Let’s talk ‘biodiversity’: how to record Ireland’s wildlife event will be in Keadeen Hotel, starting at 7.30pm, and is being organised by WildKildare and Kildare County Council.
It is a 'citizen scientist' initiative and all are welcome to go along and see how that is becoming a core means through which vast sums of information relating to Ireland’s biodiversity are being collected and collated.
The organisers note that Ireland’s biodiversity is under threat and knowing what species occur where is vital when aiming to conserve wildlife.
