Band will parade for Christmas Market
The Patrician School Brass and Pipe Band will parade through Kilcullen to the Christmas Market from 12 noon on Saturday, writes Brian Byrne.
The 50-strong group of musicians will assemble at the Mart Car Park from 11.30am and will then march with Santa to the square. The band will play for some 10 minutes before marching back up through the town.
Santa will be available to meet children in his grotto in the Heritage Centre from 12.30pm. The visit is free, and a photo with Santa is available for €10.
A free performance of 'Elf' by the Drama Dynamics School of Speech and Drama will be held on three occasions in the Town Hall, at 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm.
The Christmas Market will have more than 20 stands selling food, Christmas items and crafts, and in the afternoon the Kilcullen Gospel Choir will perform in advance of the official switch-on of Kilcullen's Christmas Tree and lights.
