In time's (photographic) eye ...
Another photographic blast from the past, this time courtesy of Pat Dowling, writes Brian Byrne. Probably around 1962-64 and taken at the crossroads.
Note the Shell pumps operated by PG Dowling, Pat's father, and the Quinns newsagents sign behind.
The back row is Peter Bardon, Tommy Dowling, and your editor, Brian Byrne (doing what he's always telling people as a photographer not to, 'don't be hiding behind the head in front of you'). In front are Seamus Orford, Johnny Bardon (still in his Newbridge College blazer), and Michael Walker.
We were obviously all dressed up for something, I wonder what? Pat says he probably took the photo himself.
