CPC and the Trinity Walton Club

Five students from CPC are currently ‘Alphas’ (members) of The Trinity Walton Club, writes Jan Fraszczyk from Fifth Year who is an Alpha Ambassador.

The most important aspect of the Walton Club is definitely the opportunity to meet new people with new ideas but similar interests. The people I met at the Walton are some of the most interesting people I have ever met. The Club has been one of the most influential undertakings of my life.

In short, Trinity Walton Club is a STEM club with a difference. Over the few years I have attended the Club it has become a lot more than just extra Maths on a Saturday. The first thing I learned was the magnitude of STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) in our lives.

The Club provided me with all the skills, resources and motivation I needed to delve deep into any branch of science I wanted. With the help of experts, and opportunities to work with people who shared not only my interest but also my curiosity and enthusiasm for the topics we worked on, I was able to develop a much better opinion on STEM.

An important thing to mention here is that nothing we do is forced, there are no tests or assessments to fear. Everything we learn, we learn because we want to.

“Every Saturday would be a totally different experience for us," says Georgijs Pitkevics, a fellow member of the Walton Club. "We worked on various projects ranging from our own Artificial Intelligence to self-watering plants that also play soothing classical music."
