KCA meeting will review summer work, look to coming year

Kilcullen in Bloom was a highlight KCA activity of the summer.
The first post-summer meeting of Kilcullen Community Action will be held in The Hideout on Thursday evening, 13 September, writes Brian Byrne.

Kicking off at 8pm, the meeting will review the vast amount of work which was undertaken by the group in a range of Tidy Towns and other initiatives through the summer.

"We have lots to discuss, and to decide where we go from here," says chairman Ray Kelly. "The review will include Kilcullen in Bloom, the committee for the coming year, National Tidy Towns results, our annual Awards Night, Christmas Lights, the Market Square redevelopment, and the Kilcullen Sustainable Energy Group."

In addition, dates for next year's events will be discussed, with a view to having them incorporated into the Kilcullen 700 Calendar of Events.

The Calendar is envisaged to incorporate all regular events in Kilcullen during 2019, as well as special events for the Kilcullen 700 programme. KCA events alone include the Table Quiz, Community Awards, Biodiversity Week events, Heritage Week events, and others such as the Kilcullen in Bloom Launch.

KCA meetings are public and anyone who would like to help out with activities, or provide an input in any way to the various initiatives or projects, is welcome to attend.
