Improvement for Kilcullen in Tidy Towns results

Kilcullen was awarded 305 marks in the SuperValu Tidy Towns 2018 competition, writes Brian Byrne. The score was from a possible 450.

This is an improvement of 9 marks compared to 2017.

The town came second in its D category in the county, behind Kill which won 329 marks.

Kilcullen won an extra mark in seven of the eight categories, and two extra marks in the 'Sustainability' - Doing more with less' category.

The highest scoring town in the county was Maynooth with 332 marks.

Listowel in Co Kerry was the overall winner with 339 marks.
