Excuse me, you dropped something ...

A paper bag with the remains of a chicken takeaway meal was found on the Yellow Bog to Castlefish Road recently, writes Brian Byrne.

The receipt indicated that the person who dumped the bag bought the meal from Papa John's, The Chicken Guys, at 12.05 on Saturday 25 August.

It's unfortunately only one of many hundreds of such incidents every year on local roads.

It is unlikely that the offender reads the Diary, but if so, the word from local residents is that you should take your rubbish home in future.

(And maybe that should be the word from the purveyors of takeaway food, perhaps have the statement printed prominently on the bags, and on signs in their establishments? Might remind a few people ...)
