Dónal Clancy in the BAG
Guitarist Dónal Clancy plays the Ballymore Acoustic Gigs on Monday next.
Thought by many to be one of Ireland's finest exponents of the guitar, Dónal is the son of renowned singer the late Liam Clancy of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem fame.
He spent his early life in Canada and the US before his family settled back in Ring, Co Waterford, when he was eight, at which age he was given his first guitar. He has been a professional musician since his teens.
After more than a decade working in New York he moved back to Ireland with his wife Mary and their three children and in 2014, to much critical acclaim, he released Songs of a Roving Blade.
Mick Murphy's Bar, Ballymore, doors open 8.30pm, admission €12.
