Weather forces postponement of hotrod racing

Though it was never anticipated that good weather would cause a cancellation of racing at Ballyshannon Hotrod Club, that's excactly what has happened, writes Brian Byrne.

The committee decided on Friday that today's scheduled Billy Pearson Cup event and other racing has been postponed to Sunday 8 July, because conditions are forecast to be too hot for drivers and spectators, especially children.

Cars would also be in danger of overheating in what is expected to be a 'scorcher' of a day today, the committee decided.

At the moment, the planned 15 July meeting is remaining on the schedule.
